Overview

The ideal candidate will enjoy working with internal partners to understand their operational activities, be passionate about identifying existing operational process risks, understand process flows and be able to identify and propose key risk indicators and controls. Responsibilities
  • Assist VP of Operational Risk with setting short, medium and long-term vision and goals for the Operational Risk Management area.
  • Work with Compliance Integration team and the Operations area on control management, implementation and monitoring.
  • Work closely with all operational areas to evaluate and propose process improvements, highlight and mitigate key risks.
  • Support the completion of business unit-specific risk/control self-assessments, annual assessment reviews, and scenario analysis exercises.
  • Perform control assurance to ensure LoanCare's critical controls are designed and operating effectively.
  • Incident management including investigation of root cause, recording of operational risk incidents and ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are implemented.
  • Gather operational risk-related data from internal or external resources and conduct statistical analyses to quantify risk.
  • Review and assess new processes or significant modifications to existing processes and ensure the appropriate risk management oversight and infrastructure exists to measure, monitor and control such risks.
  • Collect and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRI's) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); assist with development and analysis of each as needed.
  • Assist risk staff and management as requested
  • Work with and support the business units in the institutionalization of the KRI and KPI framework
  • Assisting with the design and development of the Operational Risk program components
  • Complete the daily activities associated with the Completion of the Business Unit Risk Assessments
  • Development of the Risk Mitigation Action Plans
  • Performing detailed walkthroughs and process mapping identifying significant risks and controls
  • Maintenance of Enterprise Risk Management Risk Register
  • Reporting of the business unit's key risk and control indicators
  • Support of the Business Unit Risk Control Self-Assessment
  • Supporting the implementation of the program's eGRC technology solution
  • Establish on-going, productive relationships with the assigned business unit management
  • All other duties assigned by management

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of proven experience in operational risk management, enterprise risk management and process reengineering
  • Possess 4+ years' experience in mortgage servicing operations in both Default and Core Servicing
  • Knowledge of managing data/technology processes, or experience in risk mitigation within a bank or other financial services environment.
  • Working knowledge of ad hoc reporting and research analysis experience
  • Knowledge of federal, state, agency, and insurer guidelines regulating to mortgage servicing
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Visio as well as experience with mortgage systems, such as LoanSphere and MSP system as well as a loan document imaging system
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Compensation Range: $64,800.00-$121,500.00 annually. Actual compensation may vary within the range provided, depending on a number of factors, including qualifications, skills and experience.
