Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support a company focused on delivering advanced network engineering, testing, and operational support for mission-critical defense environments supporting the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific). This position is 100% onsite in San Diego, CA. The Senior Network Engineer will provide engineering, integration, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and security support for complex Combined Test Bed (CTB) network environments. This is an opportunity to support critical national defense missions while working with cutting-edge networking, cloud, and cybersecurity technologies. Responsibilities for the Senior Network Engineer include: * Provide operational and engineering support for CTB network environments, including installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and STIG compliance of network infrastructure.
* Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot network performance at both physical and IP packet levels utilizing network management and monitoring tools.
* Design and maintain secure connectivity across multi-cloud environments, including AWS and Azure, managing VLANs, VPCs, route tables, and virtual gateways.
* Configure and support enterprise networking technologies including routing, switching, firewalls, IPsec tunnels, OSPF, and BGP.
* Implement and manage network security solutions including Aruba ClearPass, 802.1x authentication, NAC technologies, and Zero-Trust architectures.
Required Qualifications for the Senior Network Engineer include: * 10+ years of experience in network engineering, administration, and operational support within complex enterprise or government environments.
* Experience with routing and switching platforms, Palo Alto firewalls, HPE Aruba solutions, OSPF, BGP, IPsec, AWS, and Azure cloud networking.
* Strong troubleshooting, performance analysis, testing, documentation, and network security experience.
* Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Active Secret Security Clearance.
Required Certifications: * One DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification: Security+ CE, CySA+, GSEC, SCNP, or SSCP.
* One Networking Certification: CCNA, CCNP, or CCDP.
Compensation for the Senior Network Engineer include: * Salary Range: $125,000 - $135,000 depending on experience
