Job description

"Hired to Get You Wired." For over a decade, Ring and Ping has been Southern California's premier one-stop shop for low-voltage wiring, fiber optics, and electrical needs. From expanding fiber optic backbones in massive warehouses to setting up seamless operational environments in hospitals and corporate offices, we keep businesses connected. Safety is top of mind for our team, and we take pride in delivering top-tier network infrastructures from the ground up.

The Role: We are currently seeking a Seasoned Network Cabling Technician to join our team. In this role, you will specialize in commercial installations, focusing on precise cabling, termination, and troubleshooting. You will work both independently and in small teams, traveling locally to diverse project sites across Orange, LA, Riverside, and San Diego counties. If you know your way around an OTDR, take pride in clean cable management, and can read blueprints like the back of your hand, we want you on our crew.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install & Terminate: Expertly install and terminate structured network cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A) and fiber optics for commercial projects.

  • Troubleshoot: Efficiently diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex cabling issues in the field.

  • Test & Certify: Conduct rigorous network testing using advanced cable certification tools (e.g., Fluke, OTDR).

  • Manage Quality: Maintain accurate documentation of installations/tests and ensure all quality assurance standards are met from start to finish.

  • Site Safety: Safely operate lifts and ladders, handling all equipment and materials with care to prevent damage.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in commercial network cabling and structured cabling systems.

  • Technical Chops: Deep understanding of Ethernet standards, T568A/B terminations, and advanced cable testing tools.

  • Site Skills: Proficient in reading blueprints, site plans, and executing problem-solving in real-time.

  • Field Readiness: Lift-certified (or willing/able to operate scissor/boom lifts) and comfortable working at heights.

  • Logistics: Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel to local job sites. High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Company Description

Ring and Ping is a professional low-voltage contractor specializing in structured cabling, fiber optics, access control, surveillance systems, and AV installations. We take pride in clean, high-quality work and expect the same from our team.
