Role: Sr. Network Engineer
Location: Tallahassee, FL
Duration: 9 Months

Job Description

Minimum Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in a large facility supporting a computing and network environment
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data cabling and data networks providing switching infrastructure implementations
  • Experience in Network communications, including Active Directory, TCP/IP, VOIP, DHCP, LAN, WAN and DNS. 
  • Knowledge of industry standards including ANSI/TIA 568-C.2 , IEEE and TIA/EIA. Knowledge of network security 
  • Knowledge of diagramming software to produce network topology or design reports 
  • Project management knowledge to Coordinate with vendors, contractors, clients and other interdepartmental personnel. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills                                                                   
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design using best practices for the layout of rack, switch, and cabling infrastructure.
  • Coordinate network switch migrations and cabling implementations with Client's district network POCs and vendors.
  • Generate and maintain technical documentation - User docs/procedures
  • Develop visual topology diagrams for network, cabling, and network switches
  • Track project tasks. Liaise migration tasks between project manager, stakeholders, and vendors
  • Identifies and mitigates project risks and conflicts. Validate configurations to make sure they are aligned with existing methods and practices
