Network Cabling Technician

Location: Tallahassee, FL

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15 - $27 per hour (Based on experience)

Position Summary:

The Network Cabling Technician is responsible for installing systems per code and BICSI standards, including ethernet and fiber optic cabling in commercial and residential settings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, terminate, and test ethernet and fiber optic cabling.
  • Perform commercial and residential wiring installations.
  • Understand and improve existing installation and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Apply best practices for equipment troubleshooting and installations.
  • Learn and train on multiple product lines.
  • Execute service and job tickets through our database.
  • Proficiently use Gmail, Apple iOS, Android, and web applications.
  • Train to become certified on various systems.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support.
  • Troubleshoot effectively and efficiently.
  • Train customers and field staff on products.
  • Manage parts and inventory.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends on a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Experience with network cabling installations.
  • Fiber optics installation experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with BICSI standards preferred.
  • Professional conduct and positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
