Job Purpose

Support early Feasibility Studies. Develop Dept specific project strategies, themes, control items (SAP), based on Project A00. Coordinate Dept Build Activities and manage maturation of S,Q,D,M, Equipment, Process and Training though T Stage build events. Mass Production Start-up Planning and Support.

Key Accountabilities
  • Review Weld Dept business plan and understand Honda vision for future Ki’s and planning/setting targets linking Weld BP and NM schedules/targets. 
  • Investigate Impact of New Mfg Technology and Spec.
  • Coordinate and Support Drawing Reviews, Virtual Builds, and Gebas (CRFs). Mentor project team for PPH, IAP Weld specific characteristics to ensure the design can be manufactured 
  • Expert knowledge of mass pro design changes per spec control, share impact to production team and timing. 
  • Evaluation Prep and Reporting (Project Evals. A00-F1-F2-V0…etc).
  • Coordinate On/Off line Build Activities and Loss planning (WARs).
  • Set/Confirm build order, mentor Project team part sorting, VIN machine entry
  • Track all zones pending items to closure (S,Q,D) mentor project team for timely c/m and confirm c/m effectiveness
  • Lead feedback summaries, mentor project for S,Q,D feedback summaries per assigned zone.
  • Support/Mentor weekend/shutdown Builds, Installs, Checkout requirements
  • Dept Reflection (Event and Mass Production Start up +3mths).
  • Maintain regularly scheduled meetings to review status of SAP with PIC's (Weld project team), Production team and Department manager 
  • Monitor progress on key activities (Equipment delivery, operation standard development, Training).
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, based on education
  • 3D modelling experience (CATIA preferred), previous knowledge with Honda design systems and cost management skills

  • Ability to lift 20 lbs and operate vibrating hand tools
  • Travel 3-4 times per year or as business needs require
