  • Plan and lead Risk Advisory Council meetings to communicate critical risk information across the organization
  • Facilitate risk analysis, decision-support, and strategy workshops with leaders across the enterprise
  • Lead Operational Risk Management activities, including evaluating control effectiveness, identifying process improvements, and advising on risk and control matters
  • Support crisis response reviews by identifying drivers and root causes and helping strengthen brand and reputational resilience
  • Develop and deliver risk training and education as needed

What you bring

  • A self-starter mindset and a strong drive to deliver business results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior leaders and build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Strong executive presence and comfort operating in high-visibility settings, including exposure to EST/SOT-level leadership
  • Experience leading projects and developing end-to-end strategic business plans
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to thrive in a high-performing team environment
  • Curiosity about how geopolitical, economic, regulatory, and competitive developments may affect General Motors

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, marketing, communications, strategy, or a related field
  • Exposure to GM's business and/or the automotive industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
  • Experience with advanced analytics and AI tools to enhance insights and boost efficiency
  • Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in enterprise risk management, Board communications, and/or business strategy
  • Master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
  • Ability to think creatively, challenge assumptions, and elevate strategic discussions
  • Experience with data analytics and the ability to draw clear conclusions from complex data sets

What you can expect

  • Meaningful exposure to leaders and teams across the enterprise
  • The opportunity to operate as a trusted risk management advisor
