Overview
Hospitality Health ER is seeking a Medical Records Clerk to join our team in Tyler, TX. The ideal candidate will provide proficient, accurate, and detail-oriented support to ensure high-quality medical record management.
Responsibilities
  • Gather documents and information from paper sources and/or electronic health records
  • Assemble medical records in standard order, ensuring they are complete and accurate
  • Store files in designated areas according to established medical record procedures
  • Maintain strict HIPAA compliance while upholding the highest standards of patient privacy and integrity
  • Create digital images of paperwork for storage in the electronic medical record database
  • Respond to medical records requests in a timely manner in a fast-paced environment
  • Complete daily shift responsibilities including cleaning, stocking, and organizing
  • Promote a positive work environment through professional communication with patients, visitors, and staff
  • Perform other clerical tasks as assigned (answering phones, faxing, scanning, etc.)
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
  • Familiarity with HIPAA medical privacy regulations and practices
  • Ability to perform basic office functions (faxing, emailing, scanning) with little to no assistance
  • Basic operational knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience as a Medical Records Clerk in a medical setting preferred
  • One year of medical records processing experience preferred
