Job Description:

MEI has a job opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with their Professional Engineer License to be an integral member of our design team. The scope of projects will include data centers, industrial buildings, offices and other high-profile construction projects. This role will be highly collaborative amongst MEI staff, clients, vendors, and external disciplines. Travel to job sites may be required for site observations and client meetings.

Job Duties:

  • Independently drive projects forward throughout design and construction phases.
  • Design mechanical and plumbing systems for data centers.
  • Oversee the production of all mechanical designs, systems and drawings.
  • Work amongst a cross-discipline design team, owners, and contractors to develop drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, internal design teams and manufacturers.
  • Major equipment selection and scheduling.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Professional Mechanical Engineering design experience designing mechanical systems for data centers or other mission critical projects.
  • Valid Mechanical P.E. license and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (will consider Engineering in Training certification).
  • Experience working independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and energy codes.
  • Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility in order to achieve long-range objectives.
  • Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to work as a team.
  • Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM and Revit.

Compensation & Benefits:

This position is available to candidates residing in the following states: AL, AZ, AR, FL, GA, IN, MI, MO, NV, OH, OK, SC, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV. Compensation and benefits are subject to eligibility requirements and may vary based on location and applicable laws. The pay range for this position will be provided in accordance with applicable state and local laws. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, geographic location, and business needs.

The estimate pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Virginia: $130,100-$167,600
  • Washington: $133,300-$172,300
