Job Description

Job Position: 


Manage mechanical engineering responsibilities related to crane projects and support sales and production in the Konecranes region Americas delivery engineering department. The hired engineer will be responsible for managing mechanical engineers, checking and approving designs and drawings for production.


 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Represents Engineering (communicates directly with Project Managers and MMPs (Material Managers) and Engineering Manager).
As needed, responsible for creating the Skeleton Structure in Teamcenter, 2-3 day lead time after receipt of Order Acknowledgement, and distributes Excel version to the MMP and PM.
Attends the component KOM with Component PM and Component Engineers.
Attends the frontline KOM with the Project Manager, Sales, MMP, and Offer Engineer.
Reviews the project Technical Specifications, Sale Proposal, and Sales Estimate and clarifies as needed all requirements with the Project Manager.
Heads Engineering KOM with the Design Team, informs the scope and interprets the project specification. Responsible for Engineering project hours and schedules them in ERMS.
Responsible for maintaining Project Engineering Schedules in ERMS Responsible for making all Third Party Electro-Mechanical Component Requirements, Specifications, and Supporting External Vendors as needed.
Approves all drawings and crane design EBOMs in TeamCenter.
Schedules Electrical Coordination Meetings, Phase l, Phase Il and all necessary follow-ups as needed to close all open issues.
Change Management, Manages and coordinates changes.
Develop Design Standards.
Maintains Engineering and Design Best Practices.
Provides Transportation or Erection Drawings as needed.
Tracks design engineering Quality issues and provide feedback for improvement to Quality Department.
Mechanical Engineering
Manager
Confirm that all final documents and calculations are submitted to the PM, with final copies stored and maintained in TeamCenter.
Stay current on Standards and Norms, most importantly: CMAA, AWS, OSHA, ASCE.
Warranty Support.
Handle assigned NCRs (non-conformity reports) in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Must have experience in mechanical CAD software and other design tools, Vertex G4 or Autocad preferred.
Experience in Konecranes mechanical engineering and management highly preferred.
Computer skills in MS Office and other typical engineering related programs preferred.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Good communication skills.
Aptitude for technical thinking.
