Job description

Job Title: Marketing Project Manager III
Job Location: 100% Remote
Contract Duration: 6 months
W2 candidates only preferred
Summary:
The Marketing Project Manager will serve as the operational backbone of integrated marketing planning, managing cross-functional initiatives and ensuring timely execution of marketing programs. This role focuses on leading biannual planning cycles, building structured project plans, and driving collaboration across multiple teams including Demand Generation, Field Marketing, Events, and Analytics. The ideal candidate excels in organizing complex workflows, improving processes, and enabling data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced B2B or SaaS environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning drumbeat: Manage biannual marketing planning cycles from kickoff through plan lock. Drive timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure consistent processes and on-time execution across all workstreams.
  • Own project plans and dependencies: Build and maintain detailed workback schedules, Asana projects, and milestone trackers that outline inputs, reviews, approvals, and hand-offs. Keep teams aligned and accountable through structured tracking and status updates.
  • Facilitate cross-functional execution: Lead recurring planning meetings and stage gates - set agendas, guide discussions, capture decisions, and ensure follow-ups are completed. Maintain clear communication across collaboration channels to keep all stakeholders aligned.
  • Manage progress and risks: Track performance against milestones and SLAs, flagging potential blockers or resource gaps early. Provide actionable recommendations to maintain momentum and delivery quality and hold teams accountable to deliverables.
  • Champion continuous improvement: Refine planning templates, workflows, and governance documentation to increase efficiency and predictability by 15%. Partner with stakeholders to institutionalize scalable, transparent best practices.
  • Enhance communication and visibility: Deliver concise, data-driven updates for leadership. Prepare executive summaries and dashboards that highlight progress, dependencies, and risks.
  • Integrate tools and data: Collaborate with Operations and Analytics teams to connect planning processes with performance dashboards, strengthening visibility and enabling data-informed decision-making with the ultimate goal of lowering manual overhead and improving the marketer experience, while being able to track data critical to our leadeship team.

Requirements:
  • Experience: 5-7+ years of experience in project management, marketing operations, or program coordination in a B2B or SaaS environment, working across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
  • Project & time management: Proven ability to manage complex timelines, competing priorities, and many moving pieces at once, with a "no detail is too small" mindset and a track record of delivering on time.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Comfortable working with a wide range of partners (Demand Gen, Field, Events, Web, Creative, Analytics, Sales, etc.), driving clarity on who owns what, and holding teams accountable to agreed deadlines in a respectful, collaborative way.
  • Communication & facilitation: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; skilled at leading working sessions, summarizing decisions and tradeoffs, and making complex plans easy to understand for different audiences, including managers and senior leaders.
  • Tools & systems: Hands-on experience with project management and collaboration tools such as Asana (or similar), plus proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides). Experience with Salesforce, BI tools (e.g., Tableau) and/or marketing automation platforms is a plus.
  • Data-first mindset: Comfortable working with dashboards and basic reporting to understand performance and progress, and using data to inform recommendations or escalate risks.
  • Process orientation & growth mindset: You enjoy creating structure, improving processes, and finding more scalable ways of working, while staying flexible as priorities evolve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player: Someone colleagues are excited to work with - low ego, proactive, dependable, and positive, with strong interpersonal skills and a company-first mindset.
