To thrive as a Senior LPN, you need a comprehensive understanding of nursing practices, patient care, and supervision, typically supported by an LPN license and several years of clinical experience. Familiarity with electronic health records, medication administration systems, and vital sign monitoring equipment is essential. As a Senior LPN, you can expect to take on a broad range of responsibilities, including administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, and assisting with care plans. Common challenges include managing a higher patient load, addressing complex patient needs, and adapting to fast-paced environments. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, as you’ll frequently collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality patient care.

What are Senior LPNs?

In addition to standard LPN duties, such as monitoring patient health, administering medications, and assisting with daily activities, Senior LPNs often take on leadership roles, mentor junior staff, and handle more complex patient care situations.
