Job description

Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
  • Lead day-to-day planning operations for a regional or national network.
  • Work directly with operations team to determine available capacity to remain in compliance with contract tender acceptance.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex or high-priority shipments. Set up relays as needed to expedite service.

Process Improvement & Optimization:
  • Analyze load planning processes and recommend improvements to drive efficiency, cost savings, and service enhancements.
  • Utilize data and KPIs to develop weekly performance reports and identify trends or opportunities.
  • Implement and refine route optimization models in partnership with analytics or technology teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with operations and customer service to improve communication and planning accuracy.
  • Work directly with sales to discuss planning efficiency with contract and non-contract (spot) business. Discuss shifts for capacity to become as efficient as possible.

System & Technology Ownership:
  • Provide advanced support and training on transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Lead system enhancement testing and feedback loops in partnership with IT or system vendors.

Compliance & Risk Mitigation:
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update planning processes to maintain DOT and safety compliance.
  • Audit load plans to ensure policy adherence and documentation accuracy.

Requirements:

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics, or related work experience.
  • Experience with large-scale fleet planning or dedicated fleet environments.
