Job description

Transportation Load Planner

Responsibilities:

  • Optimize load planning daily using the Transportation Management System and Warehouse Management System.
  • Oversee the comprehensive planning and coordination of transportation services to maximize operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Apply independent judgment and discretion, utilizing network balance capacity tools to determine truck locations and available customer loads. Tailor planning to meet regional needs, including load allocation, route optimization, and adjustments or cancellations.
  • Make informed decisions regarding late pickups, deliveries, and any load changes, cancellations, or reassignments, ensuring timely communication with relevant personnel.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, carriers, warehouse operations, and internal teams regarding load planning, scheduling, and transportation execution.
  • Communicate daily with customers, carriers, warehouse personnel, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate shipment execution.
  • Provide timely updates regarding shipment status, service failures, delays, and other operational issues.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that supports business operations and company objectives.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • 1+ prior experience in load planning and supply chain operations preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Pay Range: $20.50 to $30.50 per hour
