Job description

The Senior Paralegal: Healthcare Operations will report to an attorney and assist with document preparation of transactional and corporate matters.  Will review contracts and create internal resources. Will coordinate the immigration legal services and provide administrative and research support.

Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
7 years legal experience in the healthcare industry, corporate immigration, complex transactions, and contract lifecycle management. (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft and Adobe Acrobat required to run reports and metrics as needed.
Functional Accountabilities
Sr. Managing Paralegal, Lead Legal Support 

  • Manage and oversee the full paralegal services program
  • Prepare appropriate reports and memoranda and create tools as needed to summarize key legal and business terms.
  • Closely assist counsel in preparation of documents for transactions and corporate matters within a health care setting.
  • Work with counsel to prepare all documents required for transactions and corporate matters.

Legal Sufficiency Review 

  • Provide initial review, analysis and management of contracts as assigned to include drafting of agreements and following the lifespan of agreements.
  • Issue spot concerns in contracts to raise to an attorney particularly healthcare related regulatory concerns.
  • Create and maintain template contracts for the organization.
  • Create and maintain the contract clause library.
  • Create and maintain educational tools as needed for contract review.

Manager, Corporate Immigration

  • Independently manage and track visa petitions, work permits, green card processes, and other immigration-related matters for international employees.
  • Prepare, file, and track immigration documents, including H-1B, TN, L-1, and other non-immigrant and immigrant visa applications.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee immigration statuses, work authorizations, and compliance with visa terms.
  • Assist with compliance audits and prepare reports related to immigration statuses for corporate reporting.
  • Communicate with government agencies (e.g., USCIS, DOS) and external legal counsel regarding immigration matters and updates on visa petitions or compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to provide guidance on immigration-related matters, including work authorization requirements, visa renewals, and changes in employment status.
  • Support attorneys in preparing presentations and reports for leadership on corporate immigration or transactional matters.

Manager, Transactional Legal Support

  • Provide legal support for corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives, by ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and corporate documents as necessary for the enterprise.
  • Conduct due diligence and document review to support business transactions and corporate governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and other departments to identify and resolve potential legal issues related to healthcare compliance, privacy regulations (HIPAA), and other sector-specific laws.

Compliance and Record Retention Management
 

  • Maintain organized and efficient record keeping systems for both physical and electronic records related to immigration and corporate matters.
  • Prepare and file necessary documentation to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
