Job description

Job Title: IT Project Manager Location: Indianapolis, IN Type: 6-month contract Compensation: $99.00 - $116.00 per hour Work Model: Onsite

Responsibilities

  • Handle communication with business resources, sponsors, steering committees, and governance councils.
  • Craft and maintain project charter and communicate project status effectively.
  • Build and manage an integrated project timeline including dependencies, effort, and resource-driven timelines.
  • Request work estimates based on effort rather than duration, emphasizing the importance of not including buffers.
  • Influence adjustments to project timeline, budget, resources, and activities.
  • Provide critical path/critical chain information to project team members and leaders to prioritize work.
  • Facilitate status meetings and issue management sessions.
  • Communicate the impact of project changes to the portfolio manager.
  • Incorporate and execute the Organizational Change Management (OCM) plan within the overall project plan.
  • Facilitate project management processes such as Quality Review Boards (QRBs), Project Peer Reviews, Timeline Risk Analysis (TRAs), and Lessons Learned.
  • Educate project team members on project processes and methodologies.
  • Coordinate with technical resources for specific application knowledge as needed.
  • Ensure project tasks align with regulatory, legal, and quality requirements impacting the business area.
  • Support identification and clarification of roles and responsibilities within the project.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in project management, preferably in IT.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in developing and managing project schedules and timelines.
  • Experience facilitating project meetings and managing project risks.
  • Knowledge of organizational change management principles.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and technical resources.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, legal, or quality compliance standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
