Senior Restoration EstimatorReports To: General Manager
What This Role Is

At Paul Davis, we don't just restore buildings—we restore people's homes, businesses, and peace of mind after some of the most difficult events in their lives.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Restoration Estimator to become the technical leader of our reconstruction estimating operation.

This is not a position for someone who simply knows how to use estimating software. We're looking for someone who understands construction, restoration, insurance, customer service, and estimating strategy at a high level. Someone who can confidently inspect a complex loss, develop a complete scope of repairs, build trust with customers, negotiate effectively with carriers, and develop estimates that are technically accurate, thoroughly documented, and positioned for timely approval.

You will own the reconstruction estimating process from lead assignment through estimate approval and production handoff. As our company continues to grow, this role is expected to evolve into leadership of our estimating department, helping establish technical standards, mentor future estimators, and drive operational excellence.
What You'll Be Responsible For (Job Responsibilities)

  • Own the estimating process from lead assignment through estimate approval and production handoff.
  • Perform detailed field inspections of residential and commercial properties.
  • Educate residential customers and commercial clients on repair methodology, insurance processes, timelines, and expectations.
  •  Develop complete scopes of repair for projects ranging from small residential repairs to complex residential and commercial large-loss claims.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of Xactimate and Claims Workspace to prepare accurate, comprehensive estimates based on carrier and TPA requirements.
  • Develop estimates that accurately reflect construction methods, sequencing, code requirements, and real-world production practices.
  • Build productive relationships with adjusters, reviewers, and TPAs while professionally advocating for appropriate claim settlements.
  • Minimize unnecessary revision cycles through complete documentation and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Maintain compliance with carrier guidelines, TPA requirements, and SLAs.
  • Partner with Project Managers to identify concealed damage and changing site conditions for supplemental opportunities
  • Continuously improve estimating standards, templates, macros, and department processes.
  • Partner with Mitigation, Contents, Reconstruction, and Accounting teams.
  • Help establish department standards and mentor future estimators.
  • Provide mitigation estimating support during peak workload periods.
  • Represent Paul Davis professionally throughout every interaction.

What Success Looks Like

  • Accurate, complete, production-ready estimates.
  • Timely carrier approvals with minimal revision cycles.
  • Strong supplement capture supported by sound documentation.
  • Balance technical accuracy, customer advocacy, carrier compliance, and company profitability in every estimate.
  • Excellent customer confidence and communication.
  • Project Managers receive reliable scopes that reduce production surprises.
  • Reconstruction gross margins meet or exceed company goals.
  • Strong carrier and TPA scorecards.
  • Recognized as the technical leader of the estimating function.

Who You Are (Qualifications)

  • Minimum 5 years of reconstruction estimating experience, preferably in restoration.
  • Strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction, repair sequencing, and applicable building codes.
  • Expert-level proficiency in estimate writing with Xactimate and Cotality Claims Workspace.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating estimates and supplements with carriers and TPAs.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Professional communicator capable of building confidence with customers and adjusters.
  • Leadership mindset with a desire to build and improve an estimating department.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Verisk Xactimate Level II or III Certification (or equivalent experience).
  • IICRC WRT, FSRT, ASD, or AMRT certifications.
  • Experience with Contractor Connection and other insurance program environments.
  • Experience using XactAnalysis, Symbility, and DocuSketch
  • Commercial and large-loss estimating experience.
  • Previous leadership, mentoring, or process improvement experience.

Why Paul Davis

At Paul Davis Restoration, you'll join a company that believes exceptional people deserve exceptional opportunities. We are committed to building a culture of ownership, accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

Our team exists to serve people during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. Every estimate you develop directly impacts our ability to restore homes, businesses, and peace of mind for our customers.

We're investing in people—not simply filling positions. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, continue developing your technical expertise, influence company standards, and help shape the future of our estimating department.

As we continue expanding into new markets and growing our reconstruction operation, this role offers a genuine leadership path. If you're looking for more than 'just another estimating job'—if you want to build something, make a meaningful impact, and become a recognized technical leader—we'd love to talk with you.
