TRS Heating & Air Conditioning is seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Service Technician to provide residential and commercial HVAC installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair services.

This position is ideal for a skilled HVAC professional who takes pride in accurate troubleshooting, quality workmanship, and exceptional customer service. Compensation

$30–$40 per hour

HVAC Service Technician Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install residential and commercial HVAC/R systems
  • Service heating and cooling equipment, including:
    • Central air-conditioning systems
    • Furnaces
    • Boilers
    • Heat pumps
    • Rooftop HVAC units
    • Tankless water heaters
    • Fireplaces
    • Natural gas generators
  • Perform preventive HVAC maintenance and system inspections
  • Complete Indoor Air Quality services and install IAQ equipment and add-on systems
  • Identify heating, cooling, airflow, refrigerant, electrical, and mechanical issues
  • Explain HVAC diagnoses, repair recommendations, and service options clearly to customers
  • Complete assigned service calls safely, accurately, and efficiently
  • Maintain professional communication with residential and commercial customers
  • Coordinate with the Service Manager, Dispatcher, fellow HVAC technicians, and Parts Runners
  • Identify potential replacement or upgrade opportunities and provide qualified referrals to the sales team
  • Follow manufacturer specifications, safety procedures, and company service standards
  • Complete additional HVAC-related duties assigned by the Service Manager

Qualifications

  • 3–10 years of residential and/or commercial HVAC service or installation experience
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC diagnostics, maintenance, repair, and installation
  • Experience servicing furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related HVAC systems
  • Rooftop HVAC unit experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer instructions
  • Strong verbal, reading, and customer communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical HVAC issues professionally and clearly
  • Basic computer and mobile technology skills
  • Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule
  • Willingness to continue learning through company training, self-study, and manufacturer workshops
  • Valid New York State driver’s license
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle within 30 days of hire
  • Must be insurable under the company’s vehicle insurance policy
  • Ability to work safely in varying conditions, including extreme Buffalo-area weather
  • Ability to manage changing schedules, emergency service needs, customer priorities, and workload fluctuations
  • Physically capable of completing HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair duties
