The Lancaster County Career and Technology Center is seeking a Part-Time HVAC Instructor for the
Adult Education Program at the Brownstown Campus.
JOB SUMMARY:
The part-time HVAC instructor's role is to teach a wide range of subjects related to the field of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC). The instructor shall work with existing CTC staff and community members in developing curriculum, preparing lesson plans, selecting appropriate teaching materials, and teach the subject matter to students.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS/FUNCTIONS:
  • Work independently and with others, under the direction of the Director of Higher & Continuing Education to perform required tasks.
  • Communicate with staff, clients, service providers, contractors and visitors in an efficient, effective and timely manner.
  • Develop individual instructional materials.
  • Aid in the selection of curriculum, tools, and equipment.
  • Work in conjunction with the Secondary Program Faculty to maintain an up-to-date inventory of all tools and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records for attendance, progress charts and grade reports.
  • Use proper and accepted instructional techniques to reach adult learners with a variety of learning styles.
  • Recruit, network, and develop outreach and other related tasks to foster program growth.
  • Assume other essential functions as assigned by the Director of Higher & Continuing Education.
  • Assist in maintaining State and national credentials/accreditation when appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Post-Secondary education or trainer experience in the HVAC field, preferred
  • 3 or more years of relevant industry experience in the HVAC field.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office

Salary: $32.75/ hour
Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings - 6:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
