Sarasota National Club, located in Venice, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Senior Accountant! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. Sarasota National is excited to announce an exceptional career opportunity for a Senior Accountant. Qualified candidates will have previous experience within accounting, thrive in a hospitality environment, and be highly focused on providing superior customer service and accurate accounting to our residents and management team.
Sarasota National is a high-end private golf community with over 1,800 homes.
General Purpose:
Responsible for handling general accounting functions including Accounts Payable processes, member billing, assist with month-end reporting, member relations/accounts receivable functions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing ability to present financial information in a clear and professional manner
  • Monthly billing, member statements.
  • Accounts payable processing
  • Assist with monthly close activities, reviewing financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by the accounting team.
  • Provide hands on review and quality control, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and Troon's internal controls and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting issues and variances, escalating matters appropriately to the Club Controller when needed.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, including data preparation, review of assumptions, and variance analysis.
  • Analyze financial performance, highlight significant variances, and provide clear, actionable insights into accounting management and operations.

Qualifications/Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a lead, supervisory, or senior accountant capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing complex reconciliations, financial statements, and close deliverables prepared by others.
  • Proven ability to manage workloads, deadlines, and quality across multiple departments with minimal oversight.

Preferred:
  • Experience in multi entity accounting, shared services, or hospitality/golf industry environments.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Knowledge of Jonas club software & Ottimate accounts payable processing
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, transaction flow, and financial statement impacts.
  • Ability to identify complex accounting issues, apply judgment, and recommend compliant solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non finance partners.
  • Comfortable using reporting tools for review, analysis, and variance investigation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in a deadline driven, fast paced environment.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
