Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary:
Level Ex Games (Powered by Relevate Health) is a fast-growing game studio that creates video games for doctors.
Our games leverage deep game design and real game tech to advance the practice of medicine. Join a team of top artists, engineers, designers, and others who’ve joined us from prominent gaming franchises, like Mortal Kombat, League of Legends, Call of Duty, Walking Dead, and Star Wars. We're now looking for a generalist Senior Gameplay Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll work on games across an array of casual and multiplayer genres (puzzle games, strategy games, party games, and beyond). You’ll empower artists and designers to iterate quickly on fun and gorgeous games by creating best-in-class tools and pipelines. As a Senior Engineer, you'll work closely with other engineers, producers, artists, designers, and medical specialists. Join us as we develop the rapidly-expanding genre of medical games!
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Building games in Unity: From game mechanic prototypes to full casual games
  • Adding multiplayer features to our cloud gaming platform
  • Taking concepts from rapid prototyping to production development
  • Building hyper-casual games, focusing on captivating, lightweight designs
  • Optimizing application performance
  • Taking high-level concepts, breaking them down into engineering tasks, defining architecture, building prototypes, and prioritizing deliverables
  • Creating art and design tools to enable our teams to iterate quickly in their ideal
  • Participating in code and architecture reviews
  • Building products that target mobile, tablet, PC, and XR, as well as our streaming platform
  • Implementing player and client feedback to improve game experiences
Skills / Qualifications:
  • Deep experience in Unity3D
  • Fluency in C#
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Proficiency with algorithms, design patterns, and data structure design
  • Great judgment for balancing features, quality, time, and performance
  • Proficient in ramping up on existing codebases and making effective modifications
  • Experienced in working within shared codebases while ensuring backwards compatibility is maintained

  • Shipped games
  • Mobile development experience
  • CPU/GPU Optimization Experience
  • Google App Script experience
  • Experience with cloud gaming
  • Experience tracking networked states in real time
  • Graphics and shader experience (URP / Metal / Vulkan / HLSL)
  • Unreal Engine experience
Education / Experience:
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience working in a game development studio or professional software development environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience
Working Conditions:
  • Hybrid working if within 40 miles of a Relevate Health Office (Dallas, Boston, Cincinnati, New Jersey)
  • Remote working if outside 40 miles of a Relevate Health Office
  • Travel may apply based on position
