Position Summary

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Gamplay Analyst who can translate complex player data into clear, actionable decisions that improve gameplay, monetization, and player experience. You'll use advanced analytics, A/B testing, and AI/ML techniques to drive meaningful improvements in KPIs and player experience across our mobile and social games. This role is based in Austin area and involves regular in-person collaboration with the team.

Essential Job Functions

  • Own and evolve KPI frameworks across mobile and desktop games, with a focus on measurable impact
  • Partner with developers to ensure clean, reliable telemetry and event tracking
  • Build business cases and deep-dive analyses to guide features, live ops, and product decisions
  • Design and execute A/B and multivariate tests, including interpretation and recommendations
  • Develop and deploy predictive models to support live ops, monetization, personalization, and player segmentation using machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, or PyTorch)
  • Query and analyze large-scale datasets from internal databases; help others navigate data structures
  • Build automated dashboards and reporting (Tableau, Looker, Power BI) used by product stakeholders
  • Champion metric design, ensuring analytical soundness and relevance to business goals.
  • Stay current with innovations in game analytics, AI/ML, and data science practices; proactively identify opportunities for innovation using generative AI and behavioral modeling.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in analytics, data science, or data engineering, ideally in gaming, mobile apps, or digital products

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong SQL skills and comfort working with large, complex datasets
  • Experience designing and analyzing experiments
  • Experience with data visualization tools: Tableau, Looker, Power BI
  • Proficiency with machine learning tools and languages: Python, R, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, etc.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and event-based analytics
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience in free-to-play games or live operations environments
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
  • Exposure to AI/LLM tools for analyzing player behavior or feedback
