Senior Financial Aid Specialist MoneyCoach
Job no: 493964
Work type: Clerical
Location: Norman
Categories: Student Services
Pay Range: Targeted Salary: $43,000 annually, based on experience
Benefits Eligible: Yes
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Travel: Not required
Position Introduction:
The MoneyCoach connects individually with incoming and current students to provide financial coaching services which may include financial literacy, budgeting, and counseling on financial aid options to fund their education through graduation. We seek individuals who exhibit integrity, care, intentionality, and innovation.
Essential Duties:
  • Updates documents for use on websites and office e-files. Participate in on-going professional training and development with federal financial aid, financial coaching, money management, and related certification requirements.
  • Responsible for reviewing financial aid e-mails and responding to questions. Using interpersonal skills to meet with students and their supporter(s) and educate on financial aid options and personal finance.
  • Provides general office and administrative support by performing various data maintenance, reception, records activities, information distribution, correspondence, and other related support duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to ensure the overall successful operation of the department including public speaking.

Required Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 48 months of financial aid, general office, clerical, or related experience.

Department Preferences:
  • Prefer experience in the Student Services arena and/or financial institutions.
  • Prefer experience in Customer Service.
