Job description

Home & Design, a regional consumer magazine, seeks a seasoned editor/writer with a minimum of five to seven years of magazine experience, ideally in the fields of architecture and interior design. Candidate must be well versed in all aspects of the design process and comfortable interviewing design professionals and writing about their work. 

The position entails writing and editing front-of-book and feature articles; assigning articles and collaborating with freelance writers; proofreading and fact-checking; and attending design-related events. The candidate should be passionate about design, with a well-honed eye and a creative approach to magazine content. Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills are a must.


The senior editor will work closely with and report to the editor in chief on Home & Design, and is also the editor of an annual Idea Book. 

The position is hybrid; the company office is in Rockville, MD, near on the Washington DC Metro. Benefits include three weeks of vacation to start; a 401-K plan; and health insurance.
