Position Overview

Join a high-impact engineering team focused on the design, integration, and optimization of heavy-duty vehicle components and systems. This Senior Mechanical Engineer role is ideal for an engineer with strong experience in vehicle component design, CAD modeling, engineering analysis, BOMs, supplier collaboration, and production support.

The right candidate will bring hands-on experience designing functional, reliable, and cost-effective mechanical systems for automotive, defense, truck, off-highway, or heavy equipment platforms.

This position offers broad exposure across the full product lifecycle, including new product development, redesigns, technical problem solving, validation support, drawing release, and cross-functional execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop heavy vehicle components, assemblies, and mechanical systems
  • Support new product development and redesign efforts for existing vehicle platforms
  • Create and review CAD models, engineering layouts, drawings, and bills of materials
  • Perform engineering calculations, tolerance reviews, and system performance analysis
  • Evaluate designs for performance, durability, reliability, safety, and manufacturability
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, test, and supplier teams
  • Resolve engineering issues from production, field performance, and customer feedback
  • Support component selection, materials evaluation, and technical specifications
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, presentations, and project documentation
  • Assist with vehicle integration, packaging, and system execution
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers, designers, and technicians
  • Drive projects of moderate complexity or lead key portions of larger programs
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in mechanical design, vehicle systems, or component development
  • Strong experience with CAD design tools (Creo, NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar high-level CAD systems)
  • Background in automotive, defense vehicles, commercial trucks, off-road, agriculture, or heavy equipment
  • Experience creating:
    • Technical drawings
    • Layouts
    • Bills of materials
    • Engineering documentation
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience supporting cross-functional engineering projects
Preferred / Standout Experience
  • Heavy-duty vehicle or military vehicle systems
  • Chassis, structures, suspension, body, cab, drivetrain, or mounted systems
  • Supplier engineering and technical issue resolution
  • Production support and manufacturing engineering interface
  • Component validation and root cause analysis
  • System performance modeling and optimization
  • DFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up exposure
