This position reports to:

Senior Business Controller

ABB is searching for a strategic and analytical finance leader to join our Electrification Installation Products (ELIP) team.

As this Business Controller, you will provide financial and control expertise to the ELIP Finance and Business Leadership, benchmarking KPIs while working with other finance professionals to understand the drivers of financial performance, identifying trends relevant to the business. Reporting to the Distribution Network Senior Controller, this role will study business performance, including financial modelling to forecast the impacts and risks, and recommend areas for continuous improvement.

This opportunity is open to remote candidates in the US that are capable of meeting required travel expectations (25-30%) quarterly. There would be a preference for candidates capable of working a hybrid-remote schedule out of the Byhalia, MS; Memphis, TN; or Phoenix, AZ ABB locations. #LI-Remote

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic planning and business decision-making. Expectation to build high-performing teams, mentor talent, and create a positive work environment.

  • Develop and manage comprehensive business controls, financial reporting, and compliance frameworks. Analyze financial data and key performance indicators to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, forecasts, and business case analyses for senior management. Drive process optimization and implement best practices in financial operations.

  • Supporting preparation of relevant organization financial reporting, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting and validating accuracy of financial data and business information and reports by performing reconciliation and review of exceptions. Communicate complex financial information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Optimizing own performance to increase productivity, recommend changes of process standards and procedures, identify areas for process/report standardization.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in financial controlling, accounting, or business finance

  • Strong leadership experience managing and developing finance teams

  • Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, reporting, cashflow, inventories, reconciliations, internal controls and business intelligence

  • Proficiency in Excel, data analysis tools, and financial systems (SAP or similar ERP systems)

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and work with teams spread out geographically

  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Experience with financial controls, budgeting, and forecasting

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • General accounting knowledge in financial statements

  • Change management experience highly preferred

  • High motivation to work in dynamic environment with orientation towards process improvement/simplification with ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and confidence in information produced adhering to strict deadlines

  • Demonstrated critical thinking capability is required conducting financial analysis, effective problem solving and performing root cause analysis

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $119,000 and $190,400 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
