Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. Director of Enterprise Supply Chain to lead and optimize our end-to-end supply chain operations within a high-complexity electro-mechanical manufacturing environment. This leader will be responsible for strategic sourcing, procurement, inventory control, logistics, and import/export compliance. The Sr. Director of Enterprise Supply Chain will partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Sales to drive cost efficiency, risk mitigation, and delivery excellence across a global supply base. The ideal candidate will embody Neptune's core values-Own It, Be Humble, Be a Passionate Solver, and Win Together-bringing both accountability and collaborative spirit to every aspect of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Supply Chain Leadership
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives and operational targets.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing supply chain team across sourcing, procurement, planning, logistics, and compliance functions; fosters a culture where individual strengths and perspectives combine to deliver results no one person could achieve alone.
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to monitor supply chain performance, cost, quality, and delivery; drive continuous improvement initiatives with a problem-solver's mindset, treating every metric gap as an opportunity to learn and improve.
  • Collaborate with the executive leadership team on long-range capacity planning, capital investment, and make-vs-buy decisions.

Electro-Mechanical Supply Chain Management
  • Oversee sourcing and procurement of electro-mechanical components, sub-assemblies, PCBAs, castings, motors, sensors, and related raw materials.
  • Manage a global supplier network, conducting regular supplier evaluations, qualification, and development to ensure quality and delivery standards.
  • Drive supplier risk mitigation strategies including multi-sourcing, safety stock programs, and alternate-component qualifications.
  • Partner with Engineering on new product introductions (NPI) to ensure supply chain readiness and cost-optimized bill of materials (BOM).

Inventory Control & Planning
  • Lead demand planning and S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) processes to balance supply and demand and minimize excess and obsolescence (E&O).
  • Establish and maintain optimal inventory levels, safety stock policies, and reorder points across all SKUs and product lines.
  • Implement and continuously improve MRP/ERP-driven inventory management processes to achieve inventory accuracy targets (>98%).
  • Drive reduction of working capital through lean inventory practices, supplier-managed inventory (SMI), and consignment programs.

Import/Export Compliance & Trade Management
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable import/export regulations including EAR, ITAR, HTS classification, and country-of-origin requirements.
  • Maintain and update export control policies, licensing, and classification records; serve as the organizational Export Control Officer or equivalent.
  • Manage relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies (CBP, BIS, DDTC) to ensure compliant and efficient trade operations.
  • Conduct internal audits and training programs to ensure organizational awareness of and adherence to trade compliance obligations.
  • Monitor changes in trade regulations, tariffs, and sanctions; proactively assess impact and implement process updates.

Logistics & Distribution
  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations, carrier management, and 3PL partnerships to optimize cost and delivery performance.
  • Manage freight spend and contracts; negotiate favorable terms with logistics service providers.
  • Lead implementation of supply chain technology tools including TMS, WMS, and advanced analytics platforms.

Qualifications
Required Education & Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) - required.
  • Export Compliance certification (e.g., ECoP, CUSECO) or demonstrated expertise in ITAR/EAR administration preferred.

Required Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated expertise managing electro-mechanical supply chains including sourcing of electronic components, mechanical assemblies, and integrated systems.
  • Proven track record managing import/export compliance programs in a regulated manufacturing environment (ITAR/EAR experience highly valued).
  • Hands-on experience with inventory control systems, demand planning, and MRP/ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Experience leading supply chain operations in a hybrid or multi-site manufacturing organization.

Skills & Competencies
  • Leadership presence with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization ; leads with accountability and humility, rolling up their sleeves alongside the team and putting others' success first (Own It, Be Humble)
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills; proficiency with BI tools and supply chain analytics.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with demonstrated results in supplier cost reduction and contract management.
  • Deep knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies; approaches challenges with curiosity and adaptability, continuously learning and driving better outcomes (Be a Passionate Solver).
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and project management skills in a fast-paced environment; champions inclusive teamwork and brings diverse perspectives together to achieve shared goals (Win Together).
  • High ethical standards and integrity in all supplier and trade compliance interactions; takes full ownership of decisions and always does what's right, even when no one is watching (Own It).
