Position Overview

A leading specialty subcontractor is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to lead growth and client development efforts across the Florida market. This is a high-visibility role focused on expanding market presence and securing large-scale commercial interior construction projects.

This position is ideal for a proven construction industry sales professional with strong relationships among general contractors, architects, developers, and owner representatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving strategic growth and strengthening market position throughout Florida.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to grow presence in the Texas commercial construction market

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new project opportunities with general contractors, developers, architects, and owner representatives

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at major construction firms and industry partners

  • Actively manage and grow an existing book of business while developing new client relationships

  • Track upcoming projects, bid opportunities, and market trends within the commercial construction pipeline

  • Collaborate closely with estimating, operations, and executive leadership teams to support project pursuit and successful execution

  • Represent the organization at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings

  • Maintain consistent travel throughout Texas, including San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas

  • Provide regular pipeline updates, sales forecasts, and market intelligence to leadership


Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of business development or sales experience within the commercial construction industry

  • Proven success selling services for a subcontractor or general contractor, preferably within interior trades

  • Experience with Division 612 scopes, including architectural woodwork, doors, frames, millwork, drywall, glazing, ceilings, or related interior construction scopes

  • Established relationships with general contractors, architects, developers, and owner representatives in the Texas market

  • Demonstrated success securing and managing large, multi-million-dollar commercial construction projects

  • Bachelor's degree required (Construction Management, Business, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred)

  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

  • Self-motivated, outgoing, and capable of working independently in a territory-based role


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working for a specialty subcontractor focused on interior build-outs

  • Background in architectural interiors, millwork, glazing, drywall, ceilings, framing, or related trades
