Allen Matkins, a premier California-based law firm, is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to support its Land Use, Environmental & Natural Resources (LUENR) practice, as well as its Bankruptcy, Receiverships & Creditors' Remedies practice, while also driving key cross-practice initiatives in collaboration with the Construction and Digital Infrastructure groups.
This role is well-suited for a proactive business development professional who serves as a trusted advisor to attorneys, combining strategic insight with hands-on execution to drive practice growth, enhance market visibility, and advance client development initiatives across the firm.
The role in action:
  • Collaborate on business development strategy to elevate attorney profiles and support growth priorities.
  • Lead pitches and RFP responses, coordinating inputs, developing compelling content, and delivering high-quality submissions.
  • Support practice groups in turning goals into actionable business plans and advancing strategic initiatives through ongoing collaboration.
  • Oversee sponsorships, conferences, speaking engagements, and events, including messaging coordination and post-event follow up.
  • Develop and maintain core practice marketing materials while supporting the creation of new strategic initiatives, including an expertise directory and a firmwide referral network.

We are seeking candidates who:
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in a related field and bring 8+ years of business development and marketing experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Experience with real estate, land use, environmental, or natural resources-focused roles is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate excellent organization, communication, and judgment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently, solve problems thoughtfully, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
