Primary Purpose: The Senior Designer, Handbags, Outlet is responsible for developing ideas and executing product design in line with the conceptual direction for a season. They will lead the team under the guidance of the Senior Design Director while partnering with individuals across departments in Merchandising, Product Development, Raw Materials, Technical Design, and Print team.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in design to...

  • Participate in seasonal trend, market, and material research to support the overarching design concept
  • Support the Senior Design Director in managing team work flow, organization and structure
  • Manage the design process from conception through production
  • Create and maintain detailed CADs and technical specification packages to accurately communicate design intent, construction details, and material usage to our factories and PD partners.
  • Contribute to the overall cohesion of each seasonal assortment, work closely with other members of the design team to ensure a well-rounded product line is realized; provide recommendations regarding seasonal themes, edits to line.
  • Ensure that product is of high quality and consistent with market trends, as well as business strategy
  • Support the preparation of design presentations, mood boards, and visual tools for key milestone meetings.
  • Build strong relationships with cross functional partners across merchandising, product development, hardware design, and print team to define seasonal framework and ensure that creative ideas and business goals are aligned and executed

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • 8+ years leather handbag design experience in a trend-driven, aspirational brand,
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to translate creative concepts into commercially successful products

  • Strong ability to hand sketch
  • Strong design and conceptual skills
  • Strong sense of trends, style and color
  • Knowledge of raw materials, as well as construction techniques
