Responsibilities
About the Team: Our legal team provides key support for all TikTok's innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and platforms. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok team is growing fast and is seeking experienced, bright and capable legal professionals to join. One of the critical challenges is the need for our team to provide exceptional legal support for TikTok's competition/antitrust matters. Responsibilities: - Demonstrate a thorough understanding of antitrust/competition law and principles, and review, interpret, and analyze legal information in the subject matter area, reporting into TikTok's Global Head of Antitrust in New York. - Track and synthesize antitrust developments and trends in the US and worldwide. - Manage governmental antitrust/competition-related inquiries through direct communications with antitrust authorities and supervision of outside counsel. Should have direct experience with regulators at US DOJ, FTC, and state AGs. - Act as an antitrust/competition advisor to both business and legal colleagues, including on potential investments/acquisitions (including foreign direct investment laws), product guidance, compliance and policies. - Lead responses to antitrust third-party subpoenas and CIDs, actively supporting the wider litigation team. - Support international Global Antitrust colleagues on matters in Europe and elsewhere. - Assist in the design and implementation of company-wide competition compliance programs and initiatives. Provide internal competition trainings.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification: - In-depth competition law experience in private practice or a corporate law department with a highly regarded firm or organization, preferably with experience in digital platforms and other cutting-edge tech issues. - Hold a J.D. from accredited US law school. Candidates must be admitted to the bar of at least one US jurisdiction. - Have a highly collaborative approach and strong inter-personal skills. Exercising good judgment in a fast-paced environment is key. - Have strong communication skills that allow you to interact with a wide variety of individuals and to convey legal issues clearly and simply. Preferred Qualifications: - Top-flight in-house legal experience, including representing tech clients, is strongly preferred. We are also interested in relevant experiences at US antitrust regulators (FTC, DOJ) and in top law firms. - Interest and exposure to international antitrust practice is a plus. Preference will be given to experience counseling clients in all aspects of global antitrust law. - Exposure to a wide range of platform issues, including artificial intelligence, advertising, app distribution, e-commerce, payments, and international developments in digital platform regulation.
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency]Compensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $210600 - $366000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
