Job description

About Curology
Curology's mission is to make effective, personalized skincare accessible. We were founded by dermatologists who believe everyone should have access to skincare products that actually work. Today, our licensed dermatology providers have helped millions of patients across all 50 states make that mission a reality.
We combine expert medical care with personalized prescription formulas and dermatologist-developed skincare essentials to deliver science-backed solutions that meet people where they are. Join us in our mission to transform skin health and enhance lives-one patient at a time.
Mission of the Role
The mission of the Senior Copywriter (Contract) is to shape the voice of Curology's brands, producing persuasive, strategically grounded copy that moves consumers from awareness to conversion across all touchpoints. Reporting to the Senior Creative Director, the Senior Copywriter owns copy development for Curology and Agency skincare brands, spanning product packaging, digital advertising, email/SMS, social media, and website content.
Success in this role requires an ability to translate marketing objectives into clear, consumer-friendly messaging while maintaining rigorous brand consistency. The Senior Copywriter also anchors trust across the business by collaborating closely with medical and legal partners to ensure all copy meets compliance requirements, protecting patient trust at every touchpoint.
Essential Functions and Impact Areas
Copy Development & Brand Voice
  • Develop marketing copy for Curology and Agency skincare brands, including (but not limited to) product packaging & PDP, websites, paid ads, organic social, and email/SMS.
  • Maintain and evolve the brand voice consistently across all channels and consumer touchpoints, upholding brand guidelines while innovating over time.
  • Translate marketing objectives into copy that is both strategic and compelling, simplifying complex information into clear, consumer-friendly messaging.
  • Apply SEO best practices and platform conventions to optimize copy performance across digital channels.
  • Edit and proofread meticulously to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistent casing, and error-free grammar and spelling throughout all deliverables.

Campaign & Content Strategy
  • Partner with designers and creative peers to develop concepts, big ideas, and cohesive copy and visual expressions for go-to-market campaigns.
  • Contribute a clear creative point of view during concepting, grounding ideas in category trends and consumer behavior.
  • Craft consumer insight-driven copy that guides prospective customers through the awareness-to-conversion journey.
  • Draw on knowledge of the skincare and beauty landscape, including emerging trends and cultural context, to develop copy that connects authentically with target audiences.

Cross-Functional Execution
  • Partner with Lifecycle, Paid Media, SEO, and AIO/GEO teams to align copy strategy across performance and owned channels.
  • Partner with Medical and Legal teams to refine and clear all copy, ensuring compliance without sacrificing effectiveness.
  • Engage confidently with Commercial leadership, bringing a clear, informed point of view into cross-functional discussions.
  • Communicate proactively and transparently in a remote environment, flagging blockers and pivoting as business needs shift.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently, meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Navigate ambiguity with a proactive mindset - this role operates in a high-change environment where the ability to adapt, maintain quality, and keep moving is essential.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years of copywriting experience in skincare, beauty, or an adjacent consumer health or wellness category.
  • Demonstrated track record producing effective copy across multiple marketing channels, including email, social, digital advertising, and web.
  • Portfolio that showcases impactful headlines, polished long-form and short-form copy, and clear adaptability across platforms and formats.
  • Ability to simplify technical or clinical skincare information into consumer-friendly, brand-appropriate messaging.
  • Working familiarity with SEO best practices and how they apply to web copy and product content.
  • Experience working with medical, legal, or compliance reviewers to refine copy within regulated or sensitive categories.
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of concurrent projects independently in a remote-first environment, taking initiative without waiting to be directed.
  • High adaptability in unstructured, fast-changing environments - comfortable making sound creative decisions when priorities shift, direction is incomplete, or the path forward is unclear.
  • Openness to AI tools and an interest in understanding where they can improve copy workflows; willingness to learn and adapt as the toolset evolves.
