Job description

CV Resources is partnering with a healthcare client in beautiful Juneau, Alaska to identify a Controller.

This is a full-time, on-site leadership role with a well-established healthcare provider that plays a vital role in the Southeast Alaska region. This position offers not only career growth, but also the chance to experience life in one of the most unique and scenic places in the U.S.


Position: Controller

Location: Juneau, AK (onsite)
Compensation: $150K–$175K base salary + excellent benefits (valued at ~43% of base)
Relocation Package: Up to $15K (includes 3 months housing or reimbursement)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all core financial functions: budgeting, reporting, audits, compliance

  • Manage AP/AR, financial systems, and month-end close processes

  • Deliver strategic financial insights to executive leadership

  • Partner with department heads and the revenue cycle team to optimize operations

  • Ensure compliance with city, state, and federal regulations

  • Support grant administration, public reporting, and cost reporting functions


Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in a Controller or senior-level accounting role (Assistant Controller ready to step up welcome)

  • Healthcare industry experience required

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycles, bad debt, and service line accounting

  • Excellent communication skills—ability to present to city/state stakeholders and public boards

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or Master’s preferred

  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF required; INDEX MATCH/XLOOKUP a plus)

  • Experience with NetSuite, grants, or nonprofit/hospital accounting is a plus

  • Familiarity with municipal/state financial systems is a nice-to-have


Team Structure:
  • Reports to the CFO

  • Works alongside a seasoned accounting team: Accountant III, Accountant II x2, AP, Payroll, and Grant Admin

  • Collaborates closely with revenue cycle team and consultants

  • Organization recently implemented UKG and uses NetSuite as their ERP
