Job description

Job Overview:

As a Senior Product Manager for Tektronixโ€™s Precision DC Portfolio, you will lead portfolio strategy, roadmap direction, and lifecycle management for a set of highly technical products serving critical customer test and measurement workflows. This role combines deep customer engagement, market insight, and business leadership to identify growth opportunities, shape investment priorities, and deliver differentiated solutions. You will operate at both strategic and tactical levelsโ€”translating market needs into product direction, partnering closely with engineering and commercial teams, and driving measurable business results across the portfolio.

Location:

This role is based in Solon, Ohio. Exceptions may be considered for the right candidate.

Travel:

Up to 25% for customer visits, industry events, trade shows, and internal meetings.

Responsibilities:
  • Own portfolio strategy and lifecycle decisions across the Precision DC portfolio, from discovery and business case development through launch, optimization, and end-of-life planning
  • Set and maintain a prioritized roadmap aligned to customer workflows, competitive dynamics, technology trends, and company strategy
  • Make clear product tradeoff decisions by balancing customer value, technical feasibility, investment needs, and business return
  • Own business performance for assigned product lines, including growth, margin, and portfolio health
Customer and Market Insight:
  • Engage directly with customers, partners, and field teams to understand workflows, pain points, and unmet needs in target applications
  • Translate voice-of-customer, market data, and competitive intelligence into actionable portfolio priorities and differentiated product requirements
  • Identify emerging market opportunities, adjacent use cases, and competitive threats that inform roadmap and investment decisions
  • Develop clear value propositions and positioning that connect Tektronix solutions to customer outcomes
Cross-Functional Leadership and Influence:
  • Lead through influence across engineering, sales, marketing, applications, and operations to align priorities and deliver portfolio outcomes
  • Partner with engineering throughout development to ensure solutions meet target customer requirements, performance expectations, schedule commitments, and business goals
  • Work with marketing and sales to define go-to-market plans, sales enablement, and launch readiness for new products and major updates
  • Communicate strategy, priorities, and product direction clearly to stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization
Product Discovery and Development:
  • Lead product discovery to validate opportunities, assess customer value, and reduce risk before major development investments are made
  • Define product requirements and success criteria that guide development teams toward differentiated, high-value solutions
  • Drive disciplined decision-making throughout development by balancing scope, schedule, technical tradeoffs, and expected business impact
  • Champion innovation informed by customer applications, market shifts, and technology trends relevant to Precision DC test workflows
Business Performance and Portfolio Management:
  • Monitor portfolio performance using revenue, margin, adoption, and other key business indicators, and adjust priorities as needed
  • Develop business cases and investment recommendations for new products, enhancements, and portfolio expansion opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to improve growth, mix, and profitability across the portfolio
  • Lead portfolio lifecycle decisions, including sustaining investments, rationalization, and end-of-life strategies for legacy products
Qualifications:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in product management, product marketing, business development, engineering, or a related role, with meaningful experience in technical B2B products
  • Demonstrated success defining product strategy, roadmap priorities, and lifecycle decisions for complex hardware or hardware-software solutions
  • Experience translating customer needs, market signals, and competitive insights into differentiated product requirements and investment recommendations
  • Proven ability to lead through influence across engineering, sales, marketing, applications, and operations in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong business acumen, including experience with business cases, pricing or positioning, revenue and margin analysis, and portfolio performance management
  • Working knowledge of DC test and measurement instrumentation, semiconductor or electronics test workflows, or adjacent technical domains
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders
Team Values:
  • Start with the customerโ€™s workflow and use that understanding to shape priorities, requirements, and product decisions
  • Use data, market insight, and sound judgment to make clear tradeoff decisions and focus resources where they matter most
  • Own outcomes, not just deliverables, by connecting roadmap choices to business performance, customer value, and portfolio health
  • Lead through influence by building trust, aligning functions early, and driving decisions across engineering, commercial, and operations teams
  • Balance strategic thinking with disciplined execution, moving from long-range portfolio direction to clear next actions and follow-through
  • Stay curious and grounded in the technology, the market, and the business so we keep learning, adapting, and improving how we operate

If you are energized by customer-driven strategy, complex technical products, and the opportunity to shape the future of Precision DC solutions, we invite you to join Tektronix and help lead the next phase of portfolio growth and innovation.
