Job description

Description

Who We Are

White Lodging develops and operates a portfolio of award-winning premium hotels, rooftop bars, and restaurants in some of the country's most dynamic cities. We know that the hospitality business, like life, is about how you make people feel. That's where you come in. You'll help bring the virtue of hospitality to life while we create an environment that allows you to be your best self and grow.

We are hiring a Total Rewards Manager to join our Human Resources Center of Excellence (COE) at White Lodging's corporate headquarters in Merrillville, Indiana. This is a hybrid role — three days per week required in our Merrillville corporate office and two days remote — offering the structure of an in-person collaborative environment alongside the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. This is a high-visibility HR leadership role reporting directly to the VP of Total Rewards and HR Operations — with direct support responsibilities spanning both the Benefits COE and the Compensation COE, and meaningful exposure to senior HR leadership, the CHRO, and cross-functional Total Rewards initiatives across a portfolio of 60+ premium hotel properties nationwide.

This role is purpose-built for a highly organized, analytically capable HR professional who is eager to build deep Total Rewards expertise across compensation and benefits—and who is comfortable with data tools, artificial intelligence-assisted analytics, and the ability to manage competing priorities across two Center of Excellence HR leaders. If you're a Total Rewards Manager, Compensation Analyst, Benefits Analyst, or HR analytics professional looking for Total Rewards manager jobs in Merrillville, Indiana or senior HR compensation and benefits roles in the Chicago metro area, this is a rare opportunity to grow your Total Rewards career at a company that invests meaningfully in its people and its HR function.

What You'll Do

Benefits COE Support
  • Compile and organize benefits enrollment, billing, and utilization data from carriers and internal systems — identifying discrepancies and flagging for resolution to support accurate, cost-effective benefits administration across the White Lodging associate population
  • Track open enrollment project timelines, follow up on vendor deliverables, coordinate communications, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks during the annual enrollment window
  • Prepare materials for carrier meetings, manage document requests, and maintain organized records of contracts, rate sheets, and plan documents across all benefit programs
  • Maintain compliance calendars covering ACA, ERISA, and COBRA requirements — and help monitor pay continuity in coordination with Finance and Payroll
  • Pull together market survey data and peer benchmarking information — leveraging artificial intelligence analytics tools where available — to support annual benefits plan design decisions
Compensation COE Support
  • Assist with merit planning cycle data preparation, off-cycle compensation adjustment tracking, and salary range maintenance in support of the Sr. Manager of Compensation
  • Help manage job matching, compensation survey submissions, and the compensation database — ensuring all data is accurate, current, and accessible for compensation decision-making
  • Assist in compiling data for periodic pay equity reviews — applying artificial intelligence analysis to flag anomalies — and preparing summary reports for the Sr. Manager, Compensation
  • Support the upkeep of the job catalog, grade structure, and salary range tables — and help process reclassification and leveling requests across the White Lodging organization
Cross-Functional and VP-Level Support
  • Help build and maintain Total Rewards reporting dashboards covering benefits cost, headcount, and compensation data for VP and CHRO-level audiences — ensuring data is accurate, timely, and decision-ready
  • Own the Total Rewards project calendar — keeping all deliverables visible and surfacing risks to the VP of Total Rewards and HR Operations before they become problems
  • Assist with RFP coordination for benefit carriers, compensation survey vendors, and Total Rewards technology platforms
  • Serve as the liaison between Total Rewards and the Sr. Manager of HR Information Systems — ensuring data accuracy and supporting system updates tied to benefits and compensation programs
  • Identify opportunities to streamline Total Rewards workflows, tools, and reporting processes — including AI-enabled solutions where appropriate — and recommend improvements to the Total Rewards team to increase efficiency and data accuracy over time

What You'll Bring

  • Strong foundational skills in HR, finance, data analysis, or a related field — with a genuine curiosity about compensation and benefits and a desire to build deep Total Rewards expertise over time
  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities — with the ability to compile, organize, and interpret complex benefits and compensation data sets accurately and efficiently
  • Comfort adopting, exploring, troubleshooting, and maximizing technology and data tools — including artificial intelligence-assisted analytical platforms — to improve Total Rewards workflows and reporting
  • Strong project management and organizational skills — with the ability to manage competing priorities across two COE HR leaders and keep multiple Total Rewards workstreams on track simultaneously
  • Experience with HRIS platforms, compensation databases, benefits administration systems, or HR analytics tools — familiarity with market pricing and compensation survey platforms a strong plus
  • Working knowledge of benefits compliance requirements — including ACA, ERISA, and COBRA — and compensation concepts including salary range structures, job architecture, pay equity analysis, and merit planning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — with the ability to prepare clear, accurate reporting and dashboards for VP and CHRO-level audiences
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) coursework preferred — not required; demonstrated experience and analytical capability will be considered
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach and a genuine commitment to process improvement, data accuracy, and the long-term strength of the White Lodging Total Rewards function
  • Comfort and productivity in a hybrid work environment — self-directed and accountable both in the Merrillville corporate office three days per week and working remotely

What You Can Look Forward To

  • Hybrid work schedule — 3 days per week in our Merrillville, Indiana corporate office, 2 days remote
  • High-visibility exposure to VP, CHRO, and senior HR leadership from day one
  • Cross-functional Total Rewards experience spanning both Benefits and Compensation Centers of Excellence
  • Unlimited employee referral bonuses
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off (PTO) with rollover
  • Complimentary wellness tools
  • Leadership development & tuition reimbursement
  • Discounts on hotel rooms, dining, and travel
  • Growth opportunities across a portfolio of 60+ premium hotel properties nationwide
  • Full-time associates also receive:
    • Medical, dental, and vision insurance — starting day 1
    • Life and disability insurance
    • Paid parental leave
    • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
