Job Summary
Develops and modifies process formulations, methods and controls to meet quality standards | Recommends and implements improvements, modifications or additions to document work | Reviews product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules | Integrates equipment and material capabilities to meet process module target specifications and technology target specifications. Intimate/hands-on knowledge of Multi-Axis Wind Machines | Working knowledge of FMEA's and Control Plans | Experience leading and participating in problem solving (PDCA/A3/RCA) | Knowledge of CWS and Wind Machine Programming

Essential Functions
  • Develops and optimizes continuous production and manufacturing processes to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of the organization.
  • Collects production data and applies standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes.
  • Identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve.
  • Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy and raw materials.
  • May act as a knowledge resource and guide for less experienced engineers.
  • May work on processes for new or more complex products.

Required Qualifications
  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience
  • Discipline/Major: Engineering degree required
  • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: CAD Software. Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Software. Equipment Evaluation. Mathematical Modeling. Process Engineering. Process Mapping. Requirements Engineering/Analysis. Statistical Process Control.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • This position is Safety-Sensitive.

Travel Requirements
Less than 25% travel likely.
Responsibilities-
  • Intimate/hands-on knowledge of Multi-Axis Wind Machines
  • Experience with specifying equipment and machine configurations
  • Working knowledge of FMEA's and Control Plans
  • Experience leading and participating in problem solving (PDCA/A3/RCA)
  • Knowledge of CWS and Wind Machine Programming
  • Experience with setup and verification of new equipment.
  • Experience with reading engineering drawings with an emphasis on GD&T
