Job Summary:

The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will develop and maintain SQL-based reporting features, collaborate with teams to achieve departmental objectives, and mentor junior staff while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, test and maintain SQL-based reporting features for the platform and complete advanced reporting tasks.
• Create test plans for new features, including identifying relevant data to cover all testing cases.
• Collaborate with a distributed team to fulfill the department’s quarterly objectives.
• Develop code both independently and while pair programming.
• Write and maintain design, user, and test documentation.
• Create well-performing SQL code within the impact.com data platform leveraging best practices.
• Perform triage activities through verification and bug fixes.
• Independently build customer-facing code.
• Support software testing and quality assurance processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Independently complete bug and minor enhancement ticket and complete designs for new feature requests.
• Analyze reporting requirements, monitor report usage and performance to ensure optimal runtime performance, and diagnose performance issues within SQL.
• Perform code reviews.
• Initiate and lead technical approaches and process improvements, and introduce and lay the foundation for new technologies in the stack.
• Perform root cause analysis for multiple systems and provide insights and recommendations.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members.
• Develop epics, tasks, and sub-tasks and work with Product Managers and cross squad planning.
• Provide growth and stability projections.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent foreign education) in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or related field
• 5 years of business Intelligence (BI) experience in the marketing datasets or web analytics datasets domain leveraging PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Domo Google Data Studio, Looker, or Qlik Sense.
• Demonstrated expertise leveraging PowerBI, MicroStrategy, and Tableau BI tools in the data analytics and visualization landscape.
• Demonstrated expertise developing queries leveraging 2 or more of the following database platforms: MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or Impala.
• Demonstrated expertise performing dimensional modeling leveraging the core principles of Ralph Kimball, including Star Schema, Conformed Dimensions, Business Driven Design, Bottom-Up Approach, and Data Quality and Metadata.
