Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Power BI Developer with 12+ years of IT experience and strong expertise in business intelligence, data visualization, and analytics. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing enterprise dashboards, developing semantic data models, and implementing scalable Power BI solutions. The role requires collaboration with business stakeholders, data engineers, and architects to transform complex data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI dashboards, reports, and scorecards.
  • Develop interactive visualizations using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
  • Create optimized data models using Star Schema and Snowflake Schema methodologies.
  • Develop complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs.
  • Build and optimize Power Query (M Language) transformations.
  • Develop reusable datasets, semantic models, and shared dataflows.
  • Connect Power BI to multiple data sources including SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, SharePoint, Excel, and REST APIs.
  • Perform data modeling, data cleansing, transformation, and validation.
  • Optimize report performance through efficient DAX calculations and model tuning.
  • Implement Row-Level Security (RLS), Object-Level Security (OLS), and governance best practices.
  • Configure scheduled refreshes, deployment pipelines, and workspace management.
  • Collaborate with business users to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Work closely with Data Engineers, ETL Developers, and Architects to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Develop executive dashboards with drill-through, drill-down, bookmarks, and advanced filtering capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and optimize existing reports.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Mentor junior developers and establish Power BI development standards and best practices.
Required Skills
  • 12+ years of overall IT experience.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Power BI Desktop
    • Power BI Service
    • Power Query (M Language)

    • Semantic Models
    • Paginated Reports
  • Advanced SQL development and query optimization experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and dimensional data modeling.
  • Experience integrating Power BI with SQL Server, Oracle, Azure SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, SharePoint, and REST APIs.
  • Experience with SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, or other ETL tools.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric is highly preferred.
  • Experience implementing security using RLS and workspace governance.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and version control.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300).
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake, Databricks, and enterprise cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
  • Experience in Finance, Healthcare, Government, Insurance, or Public Sector environments is a plus.
Education
  • Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
