Are you a proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented senior engineer or scientist? Join our team as a Senior Applications Engineer, where you'll play a key leadership role in supporting customers with the installation, operation, and maintenance of our cutting-edge tools. You'll work closely with customers to design and execute application experiments, optimize tool performance, and develop customized solutions to secure new business. By translating complex issues into actionable problem statements, you'll drive improved reliability, refine applications, and contribute to customer success-all while building your technical expertise and leading regional initiatives to support our business growth.

UNISERS AG is a young, vibrant startup emerging from ETH Zurich, armed with revolutionary technology to tackle the biggest challenge in the semiconductor industry: contamination control. We are rapidly expanding our team to bring our groundbreaking technology to market as swiftly as possible.
ROLE OVERVIEW
  • Provide on-site leadership (Hillsboro, OR) at customer sites for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of UNISERS equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of our tools.
  • Design and execute application experiments on customer samples and develop and validate new use cases to secure new business.
  • Partner with customers to understand their process challenges and translate them into clear, actionable application requirements.
  • Serve as the US regional expert, leading application development work at customer sites and supporting customer escalations related to applications and system performance.
  • Act as the technical voice of the customer, feeding requirements and learnings into engineering and product teams.
  • Develop application documentation, reports, and technical presentations for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to translate customer challenges into actionable problem statements, driving continuous improvements in reliability and applications.
  • Stay current with semiconductor contamination, surface science, and nanoparticle metrology trends.
  • Document findings, share insights with internal teams, and contribute to the development and refinement of workflows, applications, and customer training materials.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams through clear and professional written and oral presentations.

YOUR SKILLS
  • Education: Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field with extensive relevant experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong background in nanoparticles, surfaces, or semiconductor contamination analysis.
  • Hands-on Experience: Semiconductor R&D, wet chemistry, or high-purity material analysis.
  • Tool Proficiency: Troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate advanced analytical tools.
  • Cross-Training: Willingness to train in equipment service and applications development.
  • Teamwork: Work independently in small, remote teams with minimal supervision.
  • Integrity: Maintain customer confidentiality.
  • Data Skills: Strong data analysis; Python or similar scripting preferred.
