Job description

The Digital Communications Specialist plays a key role in advancing Core Specialty's internal and external communications across digital channels. This position is responsible for owning website content management within WordPress, managing the buildout of the SendGrid platform, and developing on-brand visual assets that support business messaging. Working cross-functionally with Communications, HR, divisional and functional leadership, the Digital Communications Specialist drives the delivery of timely, high-quality content across digital channels, ensuring alignment with company objectives, brand standards, and user experience best practices.
Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:
  • Manage and prioritize all website content updates (add/remove photos, fact sheets, updating contacts, etc.) and ensure timely completion. Own the prioritization of critical and business-sensitive changes.
  • Design and develop new pages on corespecialty.com, aligning structure and content with branding standards and business objectives. Work cross-functionally to determine needs from the business and manage the execution of their requests.
  • Work with Director of Communications and cross-functional stakeholders to source, refine, and publish updated materials across appropriate web pages.
  • Oversee content accuracy for the website, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand style guidelines
  • Manage distribution lists and audience segmentation within the internal communications platform (SendGrid). Locate any gaps in service and manage solutions.
  • Utilize organizational data to segment internal email communications appropriately and support effective message delivery
  • Manage mechanics and functionality of SendGrid for internal communications, ensuring proper formatting, effective distribution, and a consistent end product.
  • Analyze and report on internal communication performance metrics, including open rates, click-through rates, and engagement.
  • Develop branded digital assets and layouts (email headers, internal announcements, intranet visuals) that support internal and some external communications, ensuring consistency with brand standards and communication objectives.
  • Own the ongoing maintenance of SharePoint intranet content, working cross functionally to obtain and evaluate materials, prioritizing updates, and at times assisting with creating materials.
  • Work alongside divisional leadership to oversee external marketing materials and maintain a centralized broker-facing information hub, ensuring content is accurate, timely, and aligned with brand standards and business priorities.

Technical Knowledge and Understanding:
  • Intermediate to Advanced working knowledge of HTML/CSS - Must possess web development and digital design skills (HTML and CSS at a minimum)
  • Working knowledge of web security guidelines, SEO fundamentals (metadata, keywords, accessibility) and web accessibility standards (ADA/WCAG awareness), with the ability to apply best practices to optimize performance and compliance
  • Demonstrated expertise of content management systems required
  • Fully proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook to develop materials ready for users
  • Experience with SendGrid or similar marketing automation platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Marketo)
  • Understanding of compliance with email best practices and internal communication standards
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Strong understanding and application of brand standards (colors, typography, consistency)
  • Experience managing with managing and sharing SharePoint intranet platforms

Experience:

  • 2 to 4 years' experience in digital communications, with demonstrated experience managing website content and applying HTML/CSS within WordPress.
  • Experience utilizing Adobe Creative Suite to develop branded digital assets
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms such as SendGrid, including campaign execution and optimization, preferred
  • Experience applying UX/UI design principles to develop intuitive, user-centered digital experiences across web and email platforms
