Job description

The Technical Projectย Managerย IT will manage the delivery of complex, cross-functional technology projects within the NEMS IT PMO, with a focus on infrastructure, cloud, network, and systems initiatives. The role bridges technical execution and project governance โ€” owning project artifacts, coordinating with strategic vendors, and managing cross-team dependencies across the four IT verticals: Application Management, Analytics and Reporting, Software Development and Innovation, and Infrastructure.ย The Technical Project Manager will report to the Technical Program Manager (IT PMO Lead) and will work in close partnership with the Senior Project Managerย ITย and related infrastructure programs, while independently leading technical projects of moderate-to-high complexity across the NEMS IT portfolio.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Supportsย and collaboratesย with the Senior Project Managerย ITย on Project ATLAS initiativesย including Azure Cloud Data Center build (primary and secondary DC), Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN deployment, and Colo build,ย managing assigned workstreams, dependencies, and deliverables.ย ย
  • Developsย andย maintainsย comprehensive project artifacts including project charters, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), milestone trackers, dependency maps, and status reports.ย ย
  • Coordinatesย vendor delivery and accountability for technology implementation partners including Rackspace, Palo Alto, Cisco, Microsoft Azure, and other strategic vendors,ย tracking SOW milestones and escalating issues to the Technical Program Manager as needed.ย ย
  • Managesย cross-functional project team relationships and stakeholder engagement across Infrastructure, Application Management, Analytics, and Software Development verticals.ย ย
  • Facilitatesย project meetings, technical working sessions, and steering committee updates;ย preparesย agendas, capturesย decisions, and distributesย action items with clear ownership and due dates.ย ย
  • Identifiesย project barriers, risks, and constraints; developsย mitigation recommendations and escalatesย to the Technical Program Manager or Senior Project Managerย ITย asย appropriate.ย ย
  • Supportsย the BC/DR (Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery) program workstreams, coordinating technical tasks and tracking milestones toward sub-15-minute RTO/RPO targets across the Azure primary and secondary DC build.ย ย
  • Managesย clinic site technology project rollouts including network upgrades, endpoint deployments, wireless implementations, and systems refreshes across NEMS clinic locations.ย ย
  • Coordinatesย application and infrastructure project dependencies including Epic CPE connectivity changes, Azure workload migrations, and integration-impacting infrastructure changesย ensuring cross-vertical alignment.ย ย
  • Tracksย andย reportsย project financials including budget forecasting, expenditure scheduling, variance analysis, and corrective action recommendations.ย ย
  • Maintainsย project documentation repositories and ensuresย all project outcomes, decisions, and lessons learned are properly documentedย in accordance withย NEMS PMO standards.ย ย
  • Communicatesย project status to a variety of audiences including technical teams, IT leadership, clinical operations, and executive stakeholders.ย ย
  • Supportsย the Technical Program Manager inย maintainingย the IT portfolio registry and contributing to project intake and prioritization processes.ย ย
