Job Summary
As a part of the CVIMU at Southwest, you will provide care for a mixed-acuity of patients who are recovering from post-surgical cardiothoracic procedures such as CABG, MVR, and AVR. Along with recovery, nurses on this unit manage non-titratable cardiac drips and care management utilizing telemetry monitoring. Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, cardiac care, or IMU population preferred.
• 29 CVIMU beds
• Rapid patient turnover, very fast pace
• 4-5:1 ratio
• Holds cath lab, preop and post op patients.
• Willing to grow someone who wants ICU exp.
• Orientation 6 weeks to 3 months
• Self scheduling and every other weekend
The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process. Provides professional nursing care to patients, including conducting nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records.Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelors of Nursing preferred
Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing
  • Certified in Basic Life Support
  • Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
  • RN I <1 year
  • RN II = 1-3 years
  • RN III = 3-10 years
  • RN IV = 10+ years
