Familiarity with common security system hardware, CCTV, access control panels, alarm monitoring software, and certifications like CompTIA Security+ or manufacturer-specific credentials are important. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective customer communication make someone stand out in this role. These skills are essential for ensuring the reliable installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems that protect people and assets.
