Position Title: Lead Security Technician
Location: Nationwide Travel (U.S.) | Remote When Not Traveling
Position Status: Full-Time | Contract | Contract-to-Hire (Candidate Preference)
Clearance Requirements: Must be eligible to pass a U.S. Government background investigation (U.S. Citizens and Green Card holders eligible)
Pay Rate: $115,000 - $150,000+ annually (Depending on Experience)
Position Description: Seneca Resources is seeking an experienced Lead Security Technician to join a highly skilled field engineering team supporting large-scale electronic security projects across the United States.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Tier III / Tier IV Security Systems Technician who enjoys solving complex field challenges, leading installation teams, working with enterprise security technologies, and delivering mission-critical security solutions for government facilities.
We're looking for someone who has extensive experience installing, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting enterprise access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems within commercial, federal, or large corporate environments-not residential installations.
If you've worked for organizations such as Johnson Controls, Convergint Federal, MC Dean, Parsons, KBR, Versar, IST (Integrated Security Technologies), Siemens, Honeywell, Securitas Technology, or similar system integrators, we'd love to hear from you.
This role offers the opportunity to travel nationwide, lead technical teams, gain additional manufacturer certifications, and work on high-impact security modernization projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Electronic Security System Installations
  • Lead installation, integration, commissioning, and testing of enterprise electronic security systems.
  • Install, terminate, configure, and troubleshoot:
    • Access Control Systems
    • CCTV / IP Video Surveillance
    • Intrusion Detection Systems
    • Intercom Systems
    • Door Hardware
    • Controllers
    • Card Readers
    • Network-connected Security Devices
  • Perform field programming, commissioning, and final system validation before customer turnover.
Security Systems Integration
  • Configure enterprise security platforms including:
    • Bosch CCTV
    • Bosch Intrusion Detection
    • Hirsch / Identiv Access Control
    • Commend
    • Aiphone
  • Program controllers, user permissions, schedules, alarms, devices, and databases.
  • Integrate security hardware with customer networks and supporting IT infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, communication, and field device issues.
Technical Leadership
  • Serve as the Lead Technician or Site Lead on security installation projects.
  • Coordinate and oversee small teams of Tier I and Tier II technicians.
  • Mentor junior technicians on installation standards, cable routing, device termination, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
  • Review completed work to ensure quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with project closeout activities, punch-list completion, documentation, and customer communication.
Project Support
  • Read and interpret:
    • Blueprints
    • Wiring diagrams
    • Installation drawings
    • Technical specifications
  • Support equipment inventory, project schedules, labor planning, and daily field reporting.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience installing enterprise electronic security systems.
  • Experience serving as a Lead Technician, Senior Field Technician, Site Lead, Foreman, or Technical Lead.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Access Control
    • CCTV / Video Surveillance
    • Intrusion Detection Systems
    • Low Voltage Cabling
    • Security System Integration
  • Experience commissioning and programming enterprise security platforms.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and field devices.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • TCP/IP Networking
    • IP Addressing
    • VLANs
    • Network Switches
    • Windows Operating Systems
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel up to 75-100% nationwide (primarily multi-day trips throughout the Midwest, Southeast, and Southwest).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government background investigation.
