Job description

Job Summary:
Leads Security Shift Supervisors, Senior Security Officers, and Security Officers. Maintains policies and programs to ensure the physical safety of the casino's guests, employees, property, and assets; complies with Gaming Control Board security requirements and the casino's internal controls.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Yes, will supervise 5-10 direct reports.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Ensures compliance with operational procedures for activities such as guest service standards, fire prevention emergency response, guarding and patrolling the physical property, orienting and monitoring of personnel involved with gaming protection activities, and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.
  • Supervises and manages Security Officers, Senior Security Officers and Shift Supervisors assisting with guest interactions and transactions as needed.
  • Responsible for developing criteria and suitability for future candidates.
  • Confers with representatives of management to recommend policy changes, determines need for programs and training, and coordinates programs with the casino's goals and objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Works with representatives of local government to ensure cooperation and coordination of casino activities with law enforcement and firefighting agencies.
  • Directs activities of workers involved in workplace safety programs.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory controls both internal and external including but not limited to state and federal labor laws and the Gaming Control Board regulations and guidelines.
  • Reviews and approves all Security Officer performance.
  • Knowledge of state gaming regulations, safety and security practices and protocols.
  • Background and knowledge of security operations, Occupational Safety and Health association (OSHA) regulations, safety, investigation, and legal issues.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Five or more years of progressive gaming, security, and/or public safety management or equivalent combination of experience.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of slot systems required.
  • Background and knowledge of security operations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, safety, investigation, and legal issues.
  • Excellent leadership/motivation skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of various computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Available to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.

Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
  • Gaming license/registration as required by jurisdiction(s).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the business drivers in the industry.
  • Demonstrates the ability to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders.
  • Ability to analyze data, understand trends, and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis.

Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to see, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to work in a noisy and smoky environment.
  • Must occasionally move and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to work with others while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
