Location: Toronto, ON
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: CA$24.67/hour
Schedule: Continental Rotation (12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Lead Security Operations at One of Toronto's Leading Hospitals

Paladin Security is seeking an experienced Security Shift Supervisor to join our team at North York General Hospital, one of Toronto's most respected community teaching hospitals. In this leadership role, you'll oversee day-to-day security operations, mentor security officers, and help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, staff, and healthcare professionals.

What You'll Do

As the Security Shift Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead, coach, and support security personnel during your assigned shift.
  • Schedule staff and ensure full security coverage across the site.
  • Ensure compliance with all site-specific procedures and security protocols.
  • Conduct regular security patrols and facility inspections.
  • Respond to and investigate incidents, emergencies, and complaints.
  • Complete incident reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Train and mentor new security staff while ensuring certifications remain current.
  • Recognize strong performance and manage corrective action when required.
  • Work closely with the Client Service Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
  • Valid Ontario G-Class Driver's License.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Completed immunization record (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and 2-step TB test).
  • Willingness to complete N95 mask fit testing.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Minimum 2 years of healthcare security experience.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certifications, or willingness to complete Paladin's sponsored certification program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Security Supervisor or Team Lead.
  • Post-secondary education in Security, Law Enforcement, Criminology, or a related field.
