Job Description:

Position Summary:The Security Dispatcher plays a critical role in supporting the safety and well-being of residents, visitors, and staff at NewBridge on the Charles. This position is based in the Security Operations Center and focuses on radio and phone communications, real-time incident coordination, and monitoring safety systems (CCTV, alarms, access control).This is a non-patrol, seated role well-suited for individuals with strong communication skills, situational awareness, and comfort working in a fast-paced dispatch environment.Key Responsibilities:
  • Dispatch Security Officers and appropriate staff in response to calls, alarms, and routine service needs
  • Serve as the point of contact for emergency responders until their arrival on campus
  • Monitor security systems including CCTV, intrusion alarms, access control, and emergency response devices
  • Ensure resident check-ins are logged in accordance with policy and procedures
  • Track transportation movements and coordinate with drivers to ensure timely and safe service
  • Support front desk staff and internal departments by communicating and escalating urgent requests appropriately
  • Maintain clear and professional records of calls and incidents
  • Support coverage and security for scheduled events by ensuring accurate calendar review and team coordination
  • Perform other dispatch or administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Security or supervisor on duty
Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal communication, situational judgment, and multi-tasking ability
  • Calm and composed demeanor under pressure
  • Strong typing and data entry skills; must be proficient in Microsoft Office and dispatch software
  • Familiarity with radio dispatch, emergency procedures, and access control systems a plus
  • Customer service experience in healthcare, residential, or hospitality settings preferred
  • Valid driver's license preferred but not required
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to accept weekend per diem shifts as needed
  • BLS, EMT, or First Responder certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods in a control room setting
  • Must be able to communicate clearly over phone and radio
