Job description

Erie Industrial Products (EIP) – Oberlin, OH

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2:30 PM–11:00 PM

Lead the Shift. Drive Production. Build a Strong Team.

Erie Industrial Products (EIP) is looking for an experienced Second Shift Supervisor to lead our evening manufacturing operations. This hands-on leadership position oversees production, quality, shipping, safety, and team performance throughout the shift.

We’re looking for a manufacturing leader who enjoys being on the floor, solving problems, developing employees, and keeping operations moving safely and efficiently. If you have experience leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and know how to balance production goals with quality and safety, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and coordinate second shift production employees to meet daily production goals and customer requirements.
  • Provide employees with clear direction, coaching, feedback, and ongoing support.
  • Train and mentor team members on safety, quality, productivity, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Manage employee attendance, scheduling, timekeeping, and shift coverage.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust labor and priorities based on changing demands.
  • Oversee equipment setup and operations to maintain efficient production flow.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and strengthen manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure finished products meet established quality standards and specifications.
  • Partner with Quality on inspections, nonconformances, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Oversee second shift shipping activities, including staging, packaging, documentation, and outgoing shipments.
  • Ensure shipments are accurate, complete, and ready to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Enforce company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and productive work environment.
  • Assist with safety audits and incident investigations as needed.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience overseeing production operations; exposure to quality control and shipping/logistics is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, quality requirements, and production priorities.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop employees.
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Ability to handle employee concerns and workplace issues professionally and effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Production, Quality, Shipping, Maintenance, and other departments.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or adjust hours based on business needs.
  • Physical & Work Environment
  • This is an active, handson manufacturing leadership role. Candidates must be comfortable working in a plant environment that includes moving machinery, forklifts, welding operations, industrial equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • The position requires extended periods of standing and walking on concrete surfaces and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Use mechanical assistance or team lifting when appropriate for heavier materials.
  • Required personal protective equipment may include safety glasses, steeltoe footwear, highvisibility vests, hearing protection, cutresistant gloves, welding protection, or other taskspecific PPE.
  • Join Erie Industrial Products

If you’re an experienced manufacturing supervisor who takes pride in leading people, solving problems, improving operations, and delivering quality results, we encourage you to apply and bring your leadership experience to EIP.
