Type of Position: Seasonal; Full-time

Schedule: 5 days/week, weekends and holidays may be required

Pay: $22.00/hr. to $24.00/hr., based on skills and experience

Summary

An HR assistant for a ski area provides administrative and HR support requiring strong administrative skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent communication to help manage support for a high-volume, seasonal workforce. The HR Assistant will be responsible for providing general support to Loveland employees and applicants. As a member of the Human Resources team, the HR Assistant will support employees throughout the employment life cycle of an employee – from recruiting, to onboarding, to benefits/perks, to appreciation/recognition, to offboarding and everything in between. Every employee is responsible for providing a positive experience for our guests and employees, with safety and fun as our top priorities.


Essential Functions

  • Assist in the Recruiting function – help source applicants from various sourcing channels; assist with the online recruiting module and job postings; monitor application flow and assist managers in the hiring process; assist with international student coordination.
  • Assist employees with online onboarding process and troubleshoot HR/Payroll system access issues.
  • Accurately key new and returning employees into the HR/Payroll system, as well as process benefits enrollments for seasonal employees.
  • Audit Employee Policy Acknowledgements, working with managers to ensure timely completion of required acknowledgments by all employees.
  • Assist in coordinating the Employee Recognition and Appreciation Programs by promoting and encouraging participation, keeping track of awards and recognized employees, and reporting analytics.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as creating files, filing, generating reports/data, generating/modifying documents, responding to inquiries, etc.
  • Assist with additional Human Resources, administrative responsibilities, assignments and duties, as needed.
  • Support other departments during peak operational periods as needed. (May help in departments such as food & beverage, rental shop, lift operations, parking, etc.)
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in an administrative setting
  • Ability to quickly connect with others, generating excitement and interest to take action
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to audit own work
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties, requesting assistance when needed
  • Ability to work independently and to be self-directed
  • Ability to keep information confidential, and to always act with integrity and professionalism
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English - speak and understand verbal and written communications
  • Strong experience and skills with Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Work weekends and holidays unless they fall on your regularly schedule days off

Preferred:

  • Human Resources knowledge and/or experience, preferred
  • Experience with Paylocity or other HRIS system, preferred
  • General knowledge of employment laws and hiring practices, preferred
  • Ability to understand and speak some Spanish, a plus
  • Familiarity with Loveland Ski Area and/or working in the ski industry, preferred
