Position Summary


Palm House is seeking a Seasonal Server Assistant to support our Food & Beverage team in delivering seamless, personalized dining experiences. This role keeps service running smoothly through thoughtful table maintenance, timely assistance, and careful preparation of dining and service areas.


The ideal candidate is dependable, observant, and eager to contribute. From preparing an immaculate table to anticipating when a colleague needs support, the Server Assistant helps create a welcoming atmosphere where guests can relax and enjoy their experience.


This position is seasonal, with employment anticipated from October through May. Employment is expected to conclude at the end of the seasonal period.


Key Responsibilities

Dining Service Support

  • Assist Servers with attentive, well-paced service throughout each meal period.
  • Serve and replenish water and assist with bread service and other assigned offerings.
  • Support food delivery as directed, confirming table and seat assignments before serving.
  • Clear used dishes, glassware, and utensils discreetly and at the appropriate time.
  • Maintain clean, organized tables without interrupting the guest experience.
  • Relay guest requests promptly to the assigned Server and follow through as needed.

Dining Room Preparation & Presentation

  • Set and reset tables according to Palm House presentation standards.
  • Polish silverware and glassware and inspect service items for cleanliness.
  • Replenish linens, utensils, glassware, and other supplies at service stations.
  • Keep dining areas, service stations, and trays clean and organized.
  • Complete opening duties, closing duties, and assigned side work.
  • Prepare service areas for a smooth transition between meal periods.

Guest Care & Communication

  • Greet guests warmly and maintain a courteous, professional presence.
  • Anticipate needs and offer assistance within the responsibilities of the role.
  • Communicate guest concerns and special requests to the Server or manager promptly.
  • Refer ingredient and allergy questions to the Server or culinary team rather than making assumptions.
  • Respect guest privacy and handle all interactions with discretion.

Teamwork & Safety

  • Work closely with Servers, Hosts, Culinary, Bar, and Stewarding to maintain efficient service.
  • Transport dishes and service items safely and keep walkways clear.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and safe handling procedures.
  • Report spills, broken equipment, and other hazards promptly.
  • Participate in pre-shift briefings and training sessions.
  • Uphold Palm House service standards and Forbes-aligned dining practices.
