Job description

SUMMARY:
Production support may assist working in all production activities such as, but not limited to, in the chemical, humic or fermentation production areas of the facility. Production support is expected to learn about the processes, products, ingredients as they work in different areas of the plant and follow all safety practices, quality requirements and company policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • May assist in various responsibilities throughout the plant in all departments.
  • May assist production operators in monitoring product applications, calculating amounts, calibrating equipment, controlling applications, and operating equipment to blend fertilizers such as: pumps.
  • Assist cleaning and storing equipment after application process and maintenance of production equipment.
  • May assist in receiving and delivering fertilizer.
  • May assist in loading and unloading products.
  • May assist with recordkeeping and documentation.
  • General housekeeping of assigned work areas.
  • Railcar cleaning
  • Repairing and washing totes
  • Harvest seasonal crops.
  • Screening lignite product.
  • Toting product.
  • Jugging and bagging product.
  • Handling wastewater.
  • May assist with special projects, attend training sessions, providing back-up when needed.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned.

COMPETENCY:
  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in Ag/Chemical/Fertilizer industry.
Warehouse/production experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is mostly outdoors during all weather conditions, with some indoor work. Work is performed around moving machinery and equipment, noise levels vary depending on what equipment is being worked around such as: Gas/Air/Electric pumps, forklifts, ladders, hoses, tractors, sky trek, skyjack, catwalks, general hand tools, agitators, mixers, scales, pH meters, specific gravity cups, valves, camlock couplers, y-strainers, sweecos, and decanters.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of related experience and/or training.
